Internet Infrastructure Walking Tours
This tour will teaches participants how to spot fiber optic cables, cell towers, carrier hotels, and other network infrastructure in cities. Internet Infrastructure Walking Tours will be leaving from the Shared Tour Hub in Sara D. Roosevelt Park at the corner of Stanton and Forsyth Streets at 1 and 3 p.m., please RSVP here.
These events are free and open to the public. RSVP is requested. Guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, as capacity allows.
For Ideas City, NEW INC invited cyberfeminist research collective Deep Lab for a weeklong residency, during which the group continued its work exploring privacy, security, surveillance, anonymity, and large-scale data aggregation in relation to the Invisible City. In addition to hosting a full day of talks, workshops and performances on Friday, the group will present projects and research developed during their residency during the Street Festival on Saturday.
