IDEAS CITY: Detroit Workshop Session
In fall 2015, IDEAS CITY will travel to Detroit. In this by-invitation-only workshop session, participants will brainstorm and debate the topics that will be addressed by the conference with a group of cultural activists and entrepreneurs based in the city. Pashon Murray (CEOof Detroit Dirt, a company focused on urban renewal through composting), Piper Carter (an educator who uses hip-hop history to explore feminism), Halima Cassells (Vice President of the Oakland Avenue Artist Coalition), and Jerry Paffendorf (Founder of Loveland Technologies) and Khalil Mogassabi, Head of Urban Design, City of Detroit, will discuss their practices and methodology, and explore what critical issues IDEAS CITY can consider in Detroit.
