IDEAS CITY Youth Debate Tournament: Rhetoric in the Ring

Prior to September 2011, less than 1% percent of schools in New York City had debate teams and less than 1% of New York City youth participated in debate. The New York City Urban Debate League was founded in 2011 to reverse these statistics. We believe that every school should have a debate team and that every student should have access to the best debate education opportunities. We work with over one thousand students and one hundred schools each month and support debate practices every day during school and after school, tournaments every weekend, workshops every month, and debate institutes every summer.
