Part of the Aula Series A Performative Conference in Nine Acts
Created by artist Daniel Lima, Harlem: Cultural Capital is an audiovisual performance featuring live music and videos of interviews about gentrification that the artist conducted in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Medellín, Havana, and Harlem. Lima will undertake an urban intervention and “research-action” in Harlem exploring issues around Harlem’s gentrification a week prior to the Festival. Video footage of the intervention will be integrated into his performance. This project includes videos by São Paulo collective Frente 3 de Fevereiro. Supported by Sesc São Paulo.
