Join Natalie Bell, Curatorial Associate, at the studio of artist Yto Barrada. Born in 1971, Barrada grew up between Paris and Tangier, Morocco. Over fifteen of her photographs are featured in “Here and Elsewhere” (on view through September 28). Her work is included in many prominent international collections, including Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Tate Modern, London; Kunsthalle Basel; Pinault Collection, Venice; SFMOMA, San Francisco; Deutsche Bank Collection, Frankfurt; the Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris; and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Since 2006, Barrada has been the Director and Cofounder of the Cinémathèque de Tanger in Morocco.
