First Saturdays for Families: All about paper

A single sheet of paper has endless creative possibilities, but like all things it falls apart. It can be transformed into a calendar, a book, a puppet, a box, a dollar bill, a drawing—there is unimaginable potential within each sheet of paper. However, when we reuse the same piece of paper over and over again, it begins to break down and sometimes the message can become hard to read. How many different things can you create with a single piece of paper before it is destroyed? Join New Museum educators as we explore one of the most basic and versatile materials, and discover the limits of what can be created with a single sheet of paper.

This New Museum First Saturday was developed in collaboration with Nicolás Paris as part of his Museum as Hub residency.

New Museum First Saturdays for Families are free of charge. This program is designed and recommended for families with children aged between four and fifteen years and includes free New Museum admission for up to two adults per family. Children under eighteen are always admitted free. No preregistration is required. Space is limited and tickets are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Your entire party must be present; tickets will not be given to partial parties.
