The Stuart Regen Visionaries Fund

The Stuart Regen Visionaries Fund at the New Museum has been created to support a new series of public lectures and presentations by cultural visionaries. The Visionaries Series at the New Museum will spotlight leading international thinkers in the fields of art, architecture, design, and related disciplines of contemporary culture, to promote the innovations shaping intellectual life and defining the future now. Since legendary choreographer Bill T. Jones inaugurated this signature program in spring 2009, the yearly series has featured Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia (2010), and Alice Waters, chef, author, and proprietor of Berkeley bistro Chez Panisse (2011).

Past Visionaries events include:

Visionaries Series: Alice Waters

Stuart Regen Visionaries Series: Jimmy Wales

Visionaries Series: Bill T. Jones

The Stuart Regen Visionaries Fund has been made possible through a major gift form Barbara Gladstone, in honor of her son. Stuart Regen was founder of the leading Los Angeles gallery Regen Projects, and the first to champion and exhibit work by such "next generation" artists as Lari Pittman, Charles Ray, Raymond Pettibon, Matthew Barney, and Catherine Opie.

Additional support for the Visionaries Series is provided by the Charlotte and Bill Ford Artist Talks Fund.

Education and public programs are made possible by a generous grant from Goldman Sachs Gives at the recommendation of David and Hermine Heller.
